Methodology
How 1688intel Trust Score works
A 0–100 research score from publicly visible 1688 signals — to help you shortlist before you RFQ or sample. Not a factory audit.
The score helps you spend a bit more time picking finalists. It does not replace WangWang, samples, or on-site checks.
What goes into the score
We combine public page signals into one number (roughly 10–100). We do not publish exact point weights — that would invite gaming and fake precision. On each report you see qualitative drivers instead:
- Identity & TrustPass — company identity, tenure / TrustPass-style signals
- Supplier type & facility — factory vs trading vs individual; facility clues
- Marketplace activity — medals, sales, listing activity when visible
- Reviews & repeat purchase — buyer feedback signals when listed
- Certifications & verification — ISO-style certs, inspection / on-site flags
- Listing quality signals — 1688 dimensional scores when present
Each driver shows as Strong / Moderate / Weak / Missing. Missing usually means insufficient public data, not a hidden red flag.
What the number is not
- Not a credit check, legal opinion, or factory audit
- Not a guarantee the listing matches the bulk goods you will receive
- Not the same as Compare shortlist ranking (see below)
Trust Score vs Compare ranking
Trust Score is per supplier from that listing’s public signals. Shortlist ranking (composite) on Compare starts from trust scores, then adjusts for factory confidence, listing-fidelity risk, risks, and a few activity boosts — so the #1 shortlist pick may not be the highest raw trust number.
Factory confidence and listing-fidelity badges sit beside the score; they are not baked into the 0–100 number as pie slices.
How to use it
- Use the score to filter obvious weak listings quickly.
- Open the drivers — prefer Strong identity + factory signals over a high score alone.
- Save finalists to Shortlist, then act on 1688 (RFQ / sample).
